Where did they come from?
People know dolphins from ancient times but till nowadays people don't know their precedence. Scientists wonder where they came from. The life appeared in water according to scientific theories. And fishes get out from the water, the evolution started and they turned into people. But some creatures returned to the sea and scientist can't explain till nowadays what made them do that.
So, according to scientists, dolphins were those creatures that went back to the sea. Dolphins as the majority of mammals give birth to their children and feed them with milk. That is why the ancestors of dolphins were mammals. And it gives a great number of theories. According to scientists horses, goats, cows and many other animals were considered to be the ancestors of dolphins.
But there are much more interesting and unusual theories about the precedence of mammals. One of them tells us that dolphins are the inhabitants of the lost Atlantis that was destroyed in the result of some kind of catastrophe. When Atlantis was destroyed people had no other option as to adapt to the sea life and nature turned people into dolphins adapting their physical structure to water.
Greek myths explained the appearance of dolphins with the help of ancient god Apollo. This god turned into dolphin to show people the way to Dolphs, where the temple was built to honour him.
